Justin Marsh was born in Walnut Creek, California and grew up in the Central Valley and Sierra Nevada Foothills of Northern California. He earned a BFA in Pictorial Art from San Jose State University in 2007. He has worked in gallery and museum settings since 2004. While studying in San Jose, Justin organized and curated 12 & Taylor, an artist cooperative, alternative exhibition space, between 2006 and 2008. He has handled inaugural installations for the Crocker Art Museum (2010), the Anderson Collection at Stanford University (2014), as well as the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at the University of California, Davis (2016). Finding balance between studio practice and institution, he is the Exhibition and Program Preparator at the Manetti Shrem Museum of Art and an exhibiting artist member at Axis Gallery, Sacramento.
